Listening to you - our customers - has made one thing clear:that your communications needs are unique, and that, in many cases, the best way for you to see if dmClub's service fits is to try it. We're confident that having tried us, you won't want to go anywhere else.
When you need product support just give us a call, and talk to one of our trained customer support staff. We always respond to messages, and our support staff speak daily to our operations, product management and product development departments, making sure that the customer's voice is heard.
We want you to be able to try a dmNumber without feeling that there is any risk. If you do not like your dmNumber for any reason, you can have all your money back, providing the following conditions are met:
- You have incurred usage charges of less than £5
(if you have more then we will deduct the usage from the refund). - You paid within 7 days of ordering
- You notify us within 14 days of ordering the product
This does not diminish or over-ride any other rights that you have under UK commercial law, and any credit card law/terms of service.
dmClub allows customers to have a number of "free" 07005 or 070X0 personal numbers. The concept of "free for life" is core to the dmClub personal number ethos. The idea is that a customer can have a number for life, that follows them from mobile phone to mobile phone, landline to landline, and can provide useful services for the entire life. The idea is that the customer should never have to pay for this service.
What are the caveats?
- It is dependant on the telecoms environment and regulations
- The numbers must be used (see Minimum usage policy), we do not require a high usage, and have a policy for handling exceptions.
- That the numbers are used for reasonable and responsible communications, this is partly based on regulations, and partly a decision that we take as part of the dmClub ethos.
- We reserve the right to review this policy.
Our track record is good here, we were the first in the world to offer free follow-me numbers, on the web, through retail outlets, and through brochures. We have upgraded the services several times, and still offer a superior service, for free.
Overall Policy
dmClub operate numbers that are "free for life", however numbers are in short demand, and a significant percentage of people are ordering numbers and then not using them ever, or stopping using them after a while. Part of the problem is caused by the fact that the numbers are free, and as a result people will acquire them without thinking, and also may not value them so highly even though these are some of the most sophiticated telecoms services in the world. There is only a finite quantity of phone numbers, and having unused or number-squatted numbers, causes inconvenience to all phone users, as national numbering schemes have to be reorganised, and phone numbers get longer.
Minimum Usage Policy
dmClub would like the numbers used for a minimum of 10 seconds within 7 days of signup, and at least 30 secs per calendar month. We would hope that customers would share our view that this is a very small usage, and that it is reasonable for us to regard the average number that does not achieve this level of usage to be unused.
Customer Options for Unused Numbers
i. Use the number Put at least 30 seconds of connected usage (to voicemail or a live call), in the next 2 weeks from notice.
ii. Return the number The customer indicates that the number will not be used, and it can be returned to stock for someone else to use. Please note that dmClub will not attach any stigma to the customer for doing this, and will not treat people who do this differently in the future, than if they had never had the number.
iii. Reserve the number dmClub can reserve the number for customers, so that if they have a particular future use for that number, but do not intend to use it immediately, they are not inconvenienced for this. There will be a small charge for this.
iv. Explain the exceptional circumstances to dmClub
